For the vast a majority of the fitness industry, the answer is NO! The average trainer has minimal education, little knowledge of the body and often serves as a cheerleader who simply looks the part. Far too often, a trainer is simply performing a job, as opposed to pursuing a career and rapidly building toward professionalism in their craft.
This isn’t popular to say of course….and certainly exposes me to labels like negative, mean or arrogant. Whether or not those labels are accurate, has nothing to do with the accuracy of the statement. The fact is, if the average person simply went to Google or YouTube and created a list of exercises using key search words, they would have just done almost the equivalent of what most trainers do. A monkey can select exercises from a list or library.
This requires no talent and definitely isn’t something anyone should be paying for. Yet again, this is the norm and clearly a leading reason so few experience lasting success in pursuit of health and wellness…and why so many get hurt.

Sun exposure provides us vitamin D, which far too many are deficient in. That’s not all though…. natural light passing through our eyes, is heavily involved in gland function and hormonal regulation.
We are exposed to less and less natural light as time goes on and our pituitary and pineal glands are being damaged as a result. It’s gotten to the point that most exercise now occurs in an artificially lit environment. This carries a dual edged sword as we lose out on the natural light that best interacts with us, but we are also being negatively impacted by the blue light that comes with most artificial light these days (more to come on blue light).
We get about 90-95% of our vitamin D from the sun. Vitamin D is essential for absorbing calcium, keeping our bones healthy, and for protecting against serious chronic diseases such as osteoporosis, Type ll diabetes, multiple sclerosis and many common cancers. Yes, the sun can help prevent cancer!!
Here are some of the many ways sun exposure can improve your health:
1. It can cheer you up- the sun can boost serotonin (our happy hormone) levels…this is why most feel happier and have more energy when the sun is out. Regular sun can improve moderate depression, especially when combined with exercise. It’s also been shown that exercising outdoors creates more endorphins in the body than exercising indoors. Obviously, this is where we come in.
